Galloway Cottage is located in Birtwhistle Street, Gatehouse of Fleet in the peaceful south western corner of Scotland called Dumfries and Galloway.
The A75, which runs from Greta Green in the east to Stranraer in the west, bypassed Gatehouse of Fleet many years ago and means the town avoids the problems of modern traffic but has the benefit of easy access to the road network.
The nearest railway station is at Dumfries and the town benefits from a regular bus service between Carlisle, Dumfries, Castle Douglas, Newton Stewart and Stranraer.
