The closest pub and restaurant to Galloway Cottage, The Masonic Arms has been voted "Scotland's Best Loved Pub" by the Daily Telegraph. The only Gastro pub in Dumfries and Galloway to feature in Egon Ronay’s guide it has three distinct eating areas. The Contemporary Restaurant, the Mediterranean Conservatory and the Olde World beamed bar.

The Galloway Country Style coffee shop situated on the High Street is ideal for light snacks with a well stocked gift and kilt making shop. Refreshments are also available at The Mill on the Fleet overlooking the River.
