The only Gastro pub in Dumfries and Galloway to feature in Egon Ronay’s 2006 guide it has three distinct eating areas. The Contemporary Restaurant, the Mediterranean Conservatory and the Olde Worlde beamed bar.

2005 saw the return of Jim and Helen Stewart to Gatehouse of Fleet and a complete renovation of the old Anworth Hotel. Jim and Helen have produced a wonderful place for eating out in friendly comfortable surroundings.

Both of these pub/restaurants are only a few minutes walking distance from Galloway Cottage in Gatehouse of Fleet. The Galloway Country Style coffee shop situated on the High Street is ideal for light snacks with a well stocked gift and kilt making shop. Refreshments are also available at The Mill on the Fleet overlooking the River.
